Global said we collect paintings (oil paintings on canvas or panel, watercolours and gouaches) from 1900 to the present. Currently are there about 330 of over 150 different artists, who, along with a work of art, are briefly discussed in the Gallery on this website. So they form a modest, accessible for all, digital exhibition. And that's what we aim: art should not waste away in depots, but must be shown!

Our intention is to collect three different works of art from each artist, in order to show different phases of his development. In the practice of building a collection it expires sometimes different, so we have 36 works of Gradus Verhaaf, mostly touching gouaches, but also some abstract oil paintings. Another painter who fascinates us very much is Alfons Vermeir, of which we own 20 different works. Furthermore we have about 10 works of the artists Agnes van den Brandeler, Ida Roekevisch, Henri van de Velde and Jacques Krebbekx and of Flip Gaasendam, Helen Sieger, Cor Noltee, Irène Battaille and Harry Buyck about six.

All our works are in good condition and preserved for posterity, sometimes by retaining the expertness of our regular restorer Clara Cremers. Also, each painting is provided with a lot of care and attention of an appropriate frame and all the works on paper get an acid-free base and passepartout by our regular framer and art historian Gonny Tappel.

Finally, we collect information about artists; our archive currently consists of 170 ring binders filled with alphabetical info plus some 500 monographs and some hundreds of art books. Collecting has simply become a never ending passion ...
